Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Highwall Drill Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate and maintain highwall drill equipment, ensuring safe and efficient extraction of minerals and materials from the earth's surface. Your expertise will be vital in contributing to our operational success.

Responsibilities

• Operative highwall drilling machines to efficiently extract resources.
• Perform routine maintenance on drilling equipment to prevent breakdowns.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and risk assessments.
• Document drilling metrics and contribute to operational reports.
• Report any anomalies in drilling performance immediately.
• Work closely with the broader mining team to achieve daily targets.
• Participate in safety briefing and operational meetings.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
• Provide mentorship to junior drill operators.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Requirements

Education

• Valid Highwall Drill Operator certification/license
• Relevant vocational training in drilling operations is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years in a similar role within mining or quarrying

Technical Skills

• Drilling machinery maintenance
• Safety regulation compliance
