Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Job Description

An Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality care and treatment to patients in the emergency department. They must have strong clinical skills, the ability to make quick decisions, and the capacity to handle high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage incoming patients based on urgency.
• Perform nursing procedures in accordance with established protocols.
• Ensure timely administration of medications and treatment plans.
• Document all care and interventions in the patient records.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of junior nursing staff.
• Stay updated on best practices in emergency care.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families about treatment.
• Participate in emergency response drills and teamwork exercises.

Requirements

Education

• Valid and current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

Experience

• Experience in handling critical emergency cases.

Certifications

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Languages

• English: Fluent
