Job Description

As a vital member of our health care team, the Mental Health Nurse will be responsible for conducting assessments, planning and evaluating patient care, and working alongside other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised care plans.
  • Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects and progression of treatment.
  • Support patients and families through education about mental health issues and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate health records.
  • Engage in crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision and professional development.
  • Advocate for the needs and rights of patients.
  • Conduct group therapy sessions as needed.

Requirements

Education
  • Registered Nurse qualification (RN)
  • Specialist practice qualification in mental health is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in mental health nursing.
