Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled OR Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The role involves providing pharmaceutical support and assistance in the operating room, collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the timely delivery of medications to surgical teams.
• Provide timely updates to healthcare professionals regarding medication availability.
• Participate in audits of medication management systems.
• Provide feedback to pharmacy management regarding inventory needs and supply chain issues.
• Contribute to the development of pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Support special projects as directed by the Pharmacy Manager.

Requirements

Education

• Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification
• Registered with GPhC
• Additional qualifications in Operating Room Pharmacy preferred

Experience

• At least 2 years of pharmacy experience in a hospital or surgical setting.

Technical Skills

• Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems
• Pharmacy Dispensing Software

• Problem-solving
• Organizational Skills

Advantageous

• Calm under Pressure: Ability to handle emergency situations in the operating room calmly.
• Completion of Additional Specialized Training in OR Pharmacy: Further training in operating room pharmacy practices.
