Job Description

As a Dairy Equipment Mechanic, you will take on the crucial role of maintaining and repairing machinery used in the dairy sector. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment, such as milking machines and refrigeration units, operates efficiently and reliably.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections on dairy equipment to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Diagnose defects in equipment and initiate repairs swiftly.
  • Install and commission equipment following manufacturer instructions.
  • Help develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Collaborate with the production team to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations.
  • Participate in inventory management of parts and tools.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.
  • Assist in documenting maintenance procedures for reference.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests in a timely manner.
  • Actively seek feedback from users to improve service delivery.

Requirements

Education
  • Formal Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above)
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, specifically with dairy equipment.
