Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Audio Visual Collections Coordinator to manage and maintain our extensive audio and visual collections. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in cataloguing, digitising and preserving vital materials while ensuring they are accessible for educational purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and catalogue incoming audio and visual materials.
  • Digitise and archive materials with a focus on long-term preservation.
  • Work with the Collections Manager to develop and implement user access strategies.
  • Provide training and support to other team members on collections management best practices.
  • Review and update collection policies to reflect changing technologies and methodologies.
  • Maintain and configure software tools for collections management.
  • Engage with local community groups for outreach programs.
  • Assist in curating exhibitions that highlight key audiovisual collections.
  • Offer technical support in the use of audiovisual systems and platforms.
  • Evaluate current processes and suggest improvements for efficiency.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Archival Studies, or a related field
  • Master's degree in Archival Studies or a related field is preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in audio and visual collections management or archiving

Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Familiarity with AV Formats: Knowledge of different audio and visual formats along with their playback devices.
