Job Description

As a Fish Culture Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire fish culture operations. This includes monitoring fish health, coordinating feeding schedules, and ensuring compliance with industry standards tailored to promote fish welfare and optimal production.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire fish culture process and ensure proper care of fish stock.
  • Coordinate with the team to maintain optimal water and feeding conditions.
  • Conduct regular health checks and apply treatments as necessary.
  • Develop and improve fish culture protocols to enhance productivity.
  • Document and report on production outcomes and fish health metrics.
  • Ensure that all operations conform to environmental and health standards.
  • Lead training sessions for new staff on best practices in fish culture.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage issues that may affect fish welfare.
  • Liaise with external bodies on compliance and best practices.
  • Contribute to team meetings and strategy sessions for aquaculture development.

Requirements

Education
  • Relevant degree in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, or Environmental Science
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Fisheries or related fields are advantageous
Experience
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in fish farming or aquaculture
