Job Description

As an Athletic Coach, you will develop and implement bespoke training programmes for athletes, helping them to improve their fitness, strength, and performance. Your role is to motivate and support individuals and teams in achieving their goals.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate athlete performance and adapt training programmes accordingly.
  • Provide motivation and support to both individual athletes and teams.
  • Stay informed about developments in sports coaching and fitness technology.
  • Manage and maintain training facilities and equipment.
  • Conduct workshops and seminars to educate athletes on training and health.
  • Engage in outreach initiatives to attract new clients and athletes.
  • Coordinate with sports professionals to enhance the quality of training.
  • Record and analyse feedback to improve training practices.
  • Encourage and promote a positive sporting culture among athletes.
  • Support athletes in their personal and professional development.

Requirements

Education
  • Minimum Level 2 coaching qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Coaching or Physical Education is desirable
Experience
  • At least 2 years’ coaching experience, ideally in athletics.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of sports science and fitness principles
  • Use of wearable fitness technology
Soft Skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Motivational skills
Certifications
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • DBS check
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Understanding of mental health in sports.: Knowledgeable about mental conditioning techniques for athletes.
  • Experience with athletes with disabilities.: Able to adapt programmes for athletes with various disabilities.
