Job Description

We are on the look-out for a dedicated Laboratory Veterinarian (Lab Vet) to join our esteemed team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the health and welfare of animals used in laboratory research. Your collaboration with researchers will be vital in providing veterinary care, executing medical procedures, and adhering to strict ethical regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results for laboratory animals.
  • Provide medical treatment and develop rehabilitation programs for injured or sick animals.
  • Ensure that all laboratory procedures adhere to ethical and legal guidelines.
  • Conduct educational workshops for staff on animal health practices.
  • Participate in research projects and contribute to scientific publications.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures for animal care protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of animal facilities to ensure compliance.
  • Engage with external regulatory bodies for audits and assessments.
  • Serve as an advocate for animal welfare in all research activities.
  • Provide expert consultation on the care and management of laboratory animals.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine or related field
  • Advanced degree in Veterinary Science is preferred
Experience
  • Experience in laboratory animal medicine is advantageous.
