Heavy Lift Rigger

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Lift Rigger to play a pivotal role in our lifting operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of rigging techniques and safety protocols to ensure that all lifting activities are conducted efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough inspections of rigging equipment before operations.
• Calculate weights and choose appropriate rigging methods for various loads.
• Effectively communicate with crane operators via signals.
• Ensure safety compliance during all lifting operations.
• Assist in planning logistics for lifting projects alongside project managers.
• Update records of rigging equipment maintenance and inspections.
• Train and mentor junior rigging staff on safety practices.
• Participate in safety drills and training sessions.
• Create and implement rigging plans for heavy lifts across multiple sites.
• Report on-site conditions and suggest improvements for safer operations.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant technical training preferred

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in rigging and lifting operations

Technical Skills

• Blueprint Reading
• Safety Compliance

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Leadership

Certifications

• NCCCO Certification (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators)
• CPR and First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Extra certifications like CDL: Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.
