Job Description

We are seeking a Public Health Officer to lead community health initiatives in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in public health, data analysis, and community engagement to implement effective health programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage health promotion campaigns targeted at community-level issues.
  • Conduct and analyse health surveys, interpreting data effectively.
  • Liaise with government agencies and NGOs to support public health activities.
  • Implement strategies aimed at reducing health disparities within the community.
  • Organise health screenings and vaccination drives in collaboration with local health services.
  • Develop educational materials to inform the public about health issues.
  • Support the training of staff and volunteers in public health practices.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness and response initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, or related field
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus
Experience
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in public health
