Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dedicated team in London. You will carry out maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on various heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, and cranes. Ideal candidates will have a strong mechanical background and the ability to work independently on-site at client locations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate machinery performance and recommend improvements.
• Work on hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
• Maintain clean and organised workspaces and equipment.
• Assist in the training of apprentices and junior staff.
• Participate in ongoing training to keep skills current.

Requirements

Education

• Apprenticeship or previous work experience in a similar role

Experience

• Experience with specific equipment brands, such as Caterpillar or Komatsu.

Technical Skills

• Time Management

Advantageous

• Additional certifications in specific areas (e.g., welding, electrical systems): Having certifications in welding or electrical systems will be an advantage.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment: Experience operating construction equipment is beneficial.
