Job Description

The Bituminous Paving Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the paving machine equipment to lay down asphalt or other materials for roadways, parking lots, and other surfaces. This role is crucial for ensuring quality and safety in all paving projects.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate paving and tamping equipment during road construction.
• Oversee the mixing and pouring of asphalt during the paving process.
• Calibrate the equipment for varying job specifications.
• Train and guide junior staff on equipment operation and safety measures.
• Assist with logistical support for paving operations.
• Maintain safety standards and enforce compliance among team members.
• Perform quality checks on finished work to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Work collaboratively with other crew members to achieve project goals.
• Effectively manage time to meet project deadlines.
• Provide feedback for improvement in paving processes.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in paving operations.
