Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cytogenetic Technologist to analyse chromosomes and genetic markers, helping to detect genetic abnormalities. Your role is crucial in providing timely diagnostic results to clinicians and supporting research initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cytogenetic tests and provide accurate analysis on patient samples.
• Interpret results using bioinformatics tools.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols.
• Maintain documentation and records in accordance with laboratory standards.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training.
• Collaborate with research teams on innovative genetic studies.
• Support laboratory operations by troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new testing protocols.

Requirements

Education

• BSc in Genetics or a related field
• MSc in Clinical Genetics or Cytogenetics is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in cytogenetics or a similar field

• Genetic Analysis Software

Certifications

• GCSE in Science or equivalent
• Registered Clinical Scientist (if applicable)

Languages
