Job Description

We are searching for an experienced and compassionate Children's Counselor to provide therapeutic interventions to children and young people who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for helping young individuals navigate their emotional challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate therapeutic activities tailored to meet the needs of children from diverse backgrounds.
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness through consistent follow-up and adjustments.
  • Engage with families to provide ongoing support and resources.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and care strategies.
  • Attend training sessions to enhance skills relevant to child counseling.
  • Remain updated on best practices in child mental health.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work
  • Specialised training in trauma-informed care is advantageous
Experience
  • Experience working in a community mental health setting
