Job Description

As an Oncology Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialised nursing care to cancer patients, assisting in their diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing monitoring. Your role will include offering support and education to patients and their families, ensuring they are well-informed and comfortable throughout their treatment journey.

Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy and monitor for side effects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
  • Document all interventions and patient responses accurately.
  • Identify potential complications early and manage appropriately.
  • Educate patients about their treatment journey and support them emotionally.
  • Facilitate referrals to support services for patients and families.
  • Contribute to quality assessment and improvement efforts.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs within the healthcare system.
  • Uphold the highest standards of nursing care and ethics.
  • Participate in team meetings and share knowledge with colleagues.

Requirements

Education
  • Degree in Nursing
  • Specialization in Oncology Nursing is preferred
Experience
  • Experience in managing oncology clinical trials is advantageous.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of palliative care practices
  • Proficient in using patient monitoring devices
Soft Skills
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Compassionate patient advocacy skills
Certifications
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies or associations
Languages
  • English: Fluent
