As a Crossing Guard and Flagger, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of students as they navigate to and from school. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a bustling environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe transition of students across roadways during peak hours.
• Utilize safety equipment and signals effectively.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and community members.
• Assist in training new crossing guards as needed.
• Document and report any accidents or near-misses at crossings.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant training in child safety or traffic management is advantageous

Experience

• Previous experience working with children or in a safety role

Technical Skills

• First Aid Certification

• Conflict Resolution

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Fluency in a second language: Ability to communicate with non-English speaking families is an asset.
• Prior experience in community safety: Experience in roles focusing on public safety and traffic regulations.
