Urban Planner

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Urban Planner to join our Birmingham team, focused on creating sustainable and vibrant communities. The ideal candidate will have experience in urban design, zoning regulations, and community outreach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct urban land use analyses and feasibility studies.
• Prepare and present planning proposals to stakeholders and governing bodies.
• Manage urban development projects from conception to completion.
• Evaluate urban design concepts and assess their impact on the community.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals on planning projects.
• Report on project progress and outcomes to the management team.
• Facilitate workshops to engage with community members and stakeholders.
• Provide policy recommendations on urban growth and sustainability.
• Research best practices in urban planning and apply them to local projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
• Master's degree in Urban Planning or Environmental Studies is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in urban planning and development

Languages
