Job Description

As a Residential Building Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that residential buildings meet all relevant building codes and safety regulations. Your expertise will involve inspecting various structural components including roofs, foundations, plumbing, and electrical systems to guarantee the integrity and safety of homes.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect buildings at various stages of construction to ensure they meet legal standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing inspections and suggested corrective actions.
  • Engage with contractors and property owners to provide guidance on compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and findings.
  • Attend workshops and training sessions to continuously improve inspection knowledge.
  • Provide feedback on building plans and specifications based on inspection findings.
  • Utilise building inspection software for efficient reporting and documentation.
  • Engage in proactive communication with stakeholders to discuss compliance strategies.
  • Identify trends in building performance and recommend proactive measures.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
Experience
  • Experience with historic buildings or renovations is an advantage.
