Air Brake Mechanic

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Air Brake Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing air brake systems while ensuring adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Identify performance issues with air brake systems through testing.
• Effectively communicate with team members regarding repair needs.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and in good working order.
• Uphold company standards for customer service and satisfaction.
• Implement feedback from management to enhance service delivery.
• Assist with inventory management of spare parts and tools.
• Participate in scheduled team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and challenges.
• Contribute to a clean and organized workshop environment.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of a recognised apprenticeship in automotive or heavy machinery mechanics

Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in air brake repairs

Technical Skills

• Vehicle Maintenance Principles
• Tool Usage

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Communication Skills

Certifications

• Relevant automotive mechanic certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Additional Automotive Certifications: Possession of further qualifications in automotive mechanics.
• Experience with Heavy-Duty Vehicles: Experience working on heavy-duty vehicles and their air brake systems.
