Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

Seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to become a vital part of our practice in Bath. You will handle a variety of medical cases, perform surgeries, and foster relationships with pet owners, ensuring the best possible animal care.

Responsibilities

• Engage in surgical procedures, including soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries.
• Provide tailored advice to pet owners regarding diet, behaviour, and health maintenance.
• Lead a team of veterinary nurses in patient care.
• Conduct euthanasia and provide compassionate end-of-life care.
• Advocate for animal welfare and participate in community outreach.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualification in Veterinary Surgery is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of clinical experience and recent surgical experience

Technical Skills

• Anaesthesia Management
• Diagnostic Imaging

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Problem Solving

Certifications

• RCVS Certification in Veterinary Surgery
• CPD Certification in Veterinary Medicine

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certificate in Veterinary Acupuncture: Certification in veterinary acupuncture and holistic medicine.
• Experience in a mixed practice setting: Experience working in both small and large animal clinics.
