Job Description

As a Funeral Prearrangement Counselor, you will assist families in planning and preparing for their funeral services ahead of time. This role requires a strong empathetic approach, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of the funeral industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist families in completing preneed contracts and ensuring accuracy.
• Conduct in-person or virtual consultations to discuss options.
• Respond to inquiries regarding preplanning and funeral services.
• Work with funeral home team members to ensure seamless execution of arrangements.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Funeral Director's license (or willingness to obtain one)

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in the funeral industry or related field.

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Office Suite
• Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication
• Organizational skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Bilingual or multilingual skills: Ability to converse in multiple languages is a plus.
• Experience in grief counselling: Previous experience in supporting individuals in distress.
