Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our Birmingham team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. You will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day bookkeeping activities.
  • Generate and send invoices to clients.
  • Record all financial transactions accurately.
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies.
  • Monitor financial data and prepare corrective actions.
  • Support the finance department in preparing tax returns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial information.
  • Assist in identifying areas for process improvements.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for management.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

Education
  • AAT Qualified or equivalent
  • CIMA or ACCA qualified is a plus
Experience
  • Proven experience with VAT returns and reconciliations
Technical Skills
  • Accounting Software (Xero, FreshBooks)

Languages
  • English: Fluent
