Plate Furnace Operator

Job Description

The Plate Furnace Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining furnace equipment to ensure the efficient and effective production of metal plates. The ideal candidate will also perform quality checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Set up furnace operations based on production schedule requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on furnace machinery.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to optimise production.
• Assist in training new staff on equipment operation.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Further training in metallurgical processes is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with PLC programming: Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and their application in manufacturing.
