Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fish Trapper to join our team. The Fish Trapper will be responsible for catching and trapping fish using various techniques and equipment to ensure a sustainable and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain various fishing equipment.
  • Determine optimal fishing locations based on environmental conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant fishing regulations and quotas.
  • Document and report on fish species caught and quantities.
  • Collaborate with the Fisheries Manager on operational strategies.
  • Uphold the highest standards of health and safety on-site.
  • Assist in data collection for fisheries research and management.
  • Develop and apply innovative techniques for efficient trapping.
  • Work in adverse weather conditions and physically demanding situations.
  • Engage in community outreach to promote sustainable practices.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional qualifications in marine biology or related field are a plus.
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in fish trapping or sustainable fishing practices.
