Job Description

As an Artificial Breeding Technician, you will be responsible for managing and performing various artificial breeding procedures in animals. Strong technical expertise and attention to detail are key to this role, as is a passion for animal welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Execute artificial insemination procedures with precision and care.
  • Analyze reproductive data and adjust techniques as necessary.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to enhance breeding protocols.
  • Participate in research initiatives focused on reproductive technologies.
  • Implement best practices to optimise breeding success rates.
  • Conduct workshops on animal care and welfare for staff.
  • Ensure breeding facilities comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other departments.
  • Conduct assessments of breeding performance regularly.
  • Prepare and submit reports on breeding activities and outcomes.

Advantageous

  • Experience with diverse species: Hands-on experience working with a variety of animal species.
  • Familiarity with genetic selection: Knowledge of genetic selection and breeding programs.
  • Understanding of advanced reproductive technologies: Experience with technologies such as embryo transfer.
  • Additional certifications: Certifications in animal husbandry or reproductive technologies.
