Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our team in Durham. In this role, you will provide essential care to patients with various mental health needs, while promoting positive mental health practices. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop individual care plans, support patients and their families, and deliver therapeutic interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to individuals in mental health settings.
  • Perform mental health assessments to guide treatment decisions.
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Monitor vital signs and manage medication administration effectively.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and support activities.
  • Document patient progress accurately and update care plans as needed.
  • Advocate for patients’ needs and promote their rights and dignity.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support when required.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Registered Mental Nurse qualification or equivalent
Experience
  • Experience in crisis intervention is preferred
