Job Description

The Kitchen Cook position is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food according to restaurant standards and ensuring high-quality meals are served to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals for large groups in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to enhance menu offerings and recipes.
  • Ensure that all ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
  • Implement kitchen procedures to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Assist in food prep tasks as required, including chopping vegetables and portioning ingredients.
  • Maintain inventory and report shortages to the Head Chef.
  • Participate in quality control inspections of food and kitchen equipment.
  • Provide training for new kitchen staff on proper cooking methods and safety protocols.
  • Handle kitchen equipment responsibly and adhere to safety standards.
  • Contribute to menu planning and special event preparations.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification from a culinary school or equivalent work experience
Experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in a busy kitchen environment.
