Job Description
The Kitchen Cook position is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food according to restaurant standards and ensuring high-quality meals are served to customers.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals for large groups in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to enhance menu offerings and recipes.
Ensure that all ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
Implement kitchen procedures to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Assist in food prep tasks as required, including chopping vegetables and portioning ingredients.
Maintain inventory and report shortages to the Head Chef.
Participate in quality control inspections of food and kitchen equipment.
Provide training for new kitchen staff on proper cooking methods and safety protocols.
Handle kitchen equipment responsibly and adhere to safety standards.
Contribute to menu planning and special event preparations.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification from a culinary school or equivalent work experience
Experience
2-3 years of experience in a busy kitchen environment.
