Job Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable Academic Advisor to support students in their academic journey at Sheffield University. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and experience in advising or mentoring students.
Responsibilities
Support students in identifying educational and career goals, aligning their studies with future plans.
Actively participate in student orientation and onboarding processes.
Work collaboratively with university resources such as mental health services, tutoring, and learning support.
Maintain awareness of academic trends and changes within the educational landscape.
Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, referring students to appropriate resources.
Promote diversity and inclusion within the academic advising process.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Master's degree in Education, Psychology or related area preferred
Experience
3+ years of experience in student services or academic advising roles
