Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Academic Advisor to support students in their academic journey at Sheffield University. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and experience in advising or mentoring students.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in identifying educational and career goals, aligning their studies with future plans.
  • Actively participate in student orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Work collaboratively with university resources such as mental health services, tutoring, and learning support.
  • Maintain awareness of academic trends and changes within the educational landscape.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, referring students to appropriate resources.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion within the academic advising process.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology or related area preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in student services or academic advising roles
