Psychiatric Aide

Job Description

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Aide to join our team. In this role, you will assist patients with daily living activities while providing emotional support and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a strong desire to help others.

Responsibilities

• Support patients in personal hygiene and grooming tasks.
• Record and report vital signs and other health indicators.
• Assist in daily therapeutic activities and group sessions.
• Maintain a safe environment by following safety protocols.
• Offer emotional support and actively listen to patients' concerns.
• Ensure that patients receive prescribed medications timely.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to develop care strategies.
• Contribute to the creation of a therapeutic milieu.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CNA certification or equivalent training is preferred

Experience

• 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting, particularly with psychiatric patients.

Technical Skills

• Mental Health First Aid
• Basic Life Support

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• First Aid and CPR certified

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Specialized training in mental health: Any additional training in psychiatric care is preferred.
• Experience with patient documentation: Ability to accurately document patient interactions and care.
