Job Description

The Wetland Specialist will take charge of managing wetland conservation initiatives, ensuring the protection of vital habitats. This role involves collaboration with various specialists and stakeholders to develop effective management plans and strategies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of wetland health and biodiversity.
• Formulate and implement restoration plans based on ecological data.
• Engage with local communities to raise awareness about wetland importance.
• Utilise GIS tools for mapping and analysing wetland features.
• Lead workshops and training sessions for stakeholders on conservation methods.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies.
• Facilitate partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and community groups.
• Maintain accurate records of conservation projects and outcomes.
• Evaluate project impacts and suggest improvements.
• Develop grant proposals to secure funding for conservation initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology or a related field.

Experience

• Relevant experience in wetland conservation, preferably 5+ years.
