Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Agricultural Extension Officer to facilitate the dissemination of agricultural knowledge and practices. This role involves collaborating with farmers, conducting workshops, and providing on-site support to enhance productivity and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local agriculture and be passionate about community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate farmer training and education on modern farming techniques.
  • Support farmers in the diagnosis and management of agricultural problems.
  • Develop educational materials to assist in the dissemination of information.
  • Encourage sustainable farming practices through community engagement.
  • Monitor agricultural trends and provide feedback to help shape local agricultural policy.
  • Work closely with research institutions to implement pilot projects.
  • Compile detailed reports on agricultural trends and share them with the wider community.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification in Agricultural Studies is ideal
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in field extension services
