Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Museum Technician and Conservator to join our esteemed team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and treating a wide range of artifacts and artworks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of conservation techniques, document processes meticulously, and have a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and document the condition of objects prior to treatment processes.
  • Execute complex restoration work including cleaning, repairing, and reassembling artifacts.
  • Work alongside interdisciplinary teams to enhance conservation strategies.
  • Contribute to research projects focused on conservation techniques and materials.
  • Facilitate the training of interns and volunteers in handling artifacts.
  • Engage in community education initiatives related to conservation and heritage.
  • Supervise the installation of artifacts in exhibition spaces to ensure proper display.
  • Ensure compliance with conservation ethics and policies.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Conservation or a related field is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in conservation practice
