Job Description
As a Bridge and Lock Tender, you will play a crucial role in managing the movement of boats through our canal systems. Your responsibilities will include operating locks, monitoring water levels, and ensuring the safety of all vessels in transit.
Responsibilities
Manage the operation of locks and sluices to ensure safe navigation for vessels.
Carry out routine maintenance and emergency repairs on lock systems.
Inspect boats before transit to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Record transaction fees collected from boaters and maintain accurate records.
Communicate frequently with team members to ensure safety and efficiency.
Participate in safety drills and training programs.
Assist in developing and implementing safety protocols.
Maintain a friendly and professional rapport with boat captains and crews.
Requirements
Education
Valid driver’s license
Experience
Prior experience operating heavy machinery is advantageous.
