Job Description
We are seeking a diligent Hydroelectric Plant Technician who will take on vital responsibilities of operating and maintaining hydropower facilities. The successful candidate will be integral in ensuring the optimal performance of various plant systems, conducting inspections, and performing repairs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of plant equipment and systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on hydroelectric systems to prolong equipment life.
  • Respond promptly to operational issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades as necessary.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure efficient plant operations.
  • Document all maintenance and operational activities accurately.
  • Participate in safety audits and implement improvements where needed.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts and materials required for maintenance tasks.
  • Stay updated with current technologies and best practices within the industry.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical certification or apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or a related field preferred
  • Electrical systems proficiency Strong understanding of plant electrical systems and troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical maintenance skills Experience with mechanical systems maintenance and repairs.
  • Hydraulic systems knowledge Good understanding of hydraulic systems used in power generation.
  • Pneumatics understanding Knowledge of pneumatic systems in operational contexts.
  • SCADA Systems familiarity Experience using SCADA systems for monitoring.
  • Preventive maintenance techniques Proficient in developing preventive maintenance strategies.
  • PLC programming skills Basic knowledge of PLC programming and applications.
  • Problem-solving Exceptional problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations.
  • Teamwork Strong competency in working within diverse teams.
  • Attention to detail Meticulous in performing tasks and documenting activities.
  • Communication Efficient communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Relevant technical certifications preferred
  • Health and Safety Training Certification
  • English (Fluent)
Advantageous
  • Health and Safety Regulations Knowledge: Familiarity with health and safety regulations specific to hydroelectric power plants is beneficial.
  • Turbine Maintenance Experience: Hands-on experience with maintaining and repairing turbine generators.
