Job Description

The Animal Control Specialist will be responsible for enforcing local laws and regulations regarding animal welfare and control. This role involves responding to animal-related complaints, investigating and resolving incidents, and providing assistance and education to the community on responsible pet ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Educate the public on animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
  • Conduct regular patrols to monitor for animal-related issues.
  • Support community outreach programs related to animal control.
  • Assist with emergency situations involving dangerous or distressed animals.
  • Actively engage with local community stakeholders to promote animal welfare initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Completion of relevant training or certification programs (e.g. National Animal Control and Humane Officer Academy)
Experience
  • Prior experience in law enforcement or public safety is advantageous
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of animal behaviour and welfare
  • Database management software

Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous
