We are seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trailer repairs and maintenance, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance tasks for trailers, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Utilise diagnostic technology to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems effectively.
• Engage in routine inspections and maintenance scheduling for the fleet.
• Maintain effective communication with all team members to ensure service continuity.
• Provide training and guidance to junior mechanics as required.
• Investigate and address any safety issues related to trailer operations.
• Document all activities in the maintenance management system.
• Conduct thorough quality checks on completed work.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely availability of parts and materials.

Requirements

Education

• Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Technology

Experience

• Experience with refrigerated trailers is advantageous

Technical Skills

• Welding and fabrication techniques

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Flexibility

Certifications

• Forklift operator certification (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Familiarity with tachograph systems: Knowledge of tachograph systems will be an advantage in ensuring compliance.
