Animal Husbandry Technician

Job Description

In this role, the Animal Husbandry Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day care and husbandry of various animals. You will ensure their welfare and well-being while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine feeding and monitoring of animal behaviours.
• Ensure the physical environment is safe and suitable for all animals.
• Administer vaccinations and basic healthcare under supervision.
• Maintain a high standard of hygiene in animal housing areas.
• Keep accurate documentation of animal health and welfare.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Work with colleagues to foster a nurturing environment for animals.
• Engage in community outreach to promote animal welfare.

Requirements

Education

• Higher education in Animal Husbandry or Veterinary Sciences is preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a veterinary or animal care setting

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of animal welfare regulations
• Ability to manage stress in animal care

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving skills
• Empathy

Certifications

• Veterinary Assistant Certification
• Animal First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
