Job Description

The Cardiac Catheterization Technician will be responsible for performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures under the supervision of a cardiologist or physician. This role is vital in ensuring that patients receive the best care during cardiac interventions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate cardiac imaging equipment before procedures.
• Deliver compassionate care while supporting patients through their cardiac procedures.
• Conduct necessary preparations for sterile environments to prevent infections.
• Implement and monitor patient safety protocols throughout procedures.
• Document patient vitals and responses accurately during interventions.
• Educate patients and their families about the procedures and post-operative care.

Requirements

Education

• Associate's degree or equivalent in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field
• Bachelor's degree is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a cardiac catheterization technician

Technical Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Attention to detail and accuracy

Soft Skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills

Certifications

• Active certification as a Cardiac Catheterization Technician from a recognized organization
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with electrophysiology studies and ablations: Familiarity with advanced cardiac procedures.
• Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) therapy and implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) placement: Skill in handling complex devices and techniques.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards: Awareness of compliance requirements in healthcare.
