Job Description

As a Poultry Debeaker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and welfare of our poultry flock by expertly performing debeaking procedures. This position requires skillful handling of poultry and adherence to safety protocols to prevent injuries and ensure humane treatment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct debeaking procedures in line with established protocols.
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of tools and workspaces.
• Monitor poultry for distress and provide timely interventions.
• Maintain debeaking equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
• Follow health and safety regulations to minimise risks.
• Work collaboratively to enhance flock welfare strategies.
• Document and log debeaking processes accurately.
• Engage in ongoing training related to animal welfare and debeaking techniques.
• Report any health concerns regarding the birds to the farm manager.
• Support other farm-related tasks when necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Basic understanding of animal welfare practices.

Experience

• Experience with debeaking or related procedures is advantageous.
