Job Description
Join our team as an Electronic Court Recorder and effectively transcribe court proceedings. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with judges and legal personnel, ensuring all proceedings are documented with precision and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Utilise advanced recording technology to ensure accuracy.
Conduct regular checks on equipment to ensure reliable performance.
Prepare clear and accurate written records from audio files.
Edit and proofread transcripts to enhance quality and completeness.
Securely store all recorded material to comply with legal standards.
Communicate effectively with legal teams regarding sessions.
Follow organisational protocols for recording and data handling.
Work collaboratively to resolve any discrepancies in recordings.
Adapt to various court environments and types of proceedings.
Document and report any issues that arise during recordings.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies or relevant discipline
Certification in Court Reporting preferred
Experience
At least 2 years in a court reporting or legal transcription position
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of legal terminologies
Proficient in Microsoft Word and relevant software
Soft Skills
Ability to work under pressure
Good organisational and time management abilities
Advantageous
Additional certifications in court reporting or transcription: Holding extra certifications can enhance qualifications and opportunities.
