Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to join our Newcastle office. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in commercial law and will be responsible for managing legal risks, advising on legal obligations, and ensuring our business complies with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the legal team in providing timely and professional legal services.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of the company's strategic goals by providing legal insights.
• Prepare reports on legal matters for senior management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Law or related field
• Postgraduate legal qualification is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience within a corporate legal department.

Certifications

• Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Member

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Environmental Law: Knowledge about environmental regulations affecting the business.
• Experience in Compliance matters: Knowledge in regulatory compliance frameworks will be advantageous.
