Job Description

As a Boarding House Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and cooking meals for students living in the boarding house. You will be responsible for creating menus that cater to various dietary requirements and preferences, ensuring a satisfying dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tailored meal plans that meet the nutritional needs of students.
  • Supervise food preparation and cooking processes.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Assist in the training of new kitchen staff.
  • Monitor stock levels and minimize food waste.
  • Conduct taste tests and obtain feedback from students.
  • Respond to special dietary requests and allergens.
  • Keep up to date with food hygiene regulations.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and report repairs as necessary.
  • Promote a positive dining experience for students.

Requirements

Education
  • City and Guilds or NVQ in Professional Cookery
Experience
  • Experience catering for large groups of people is advantageous.
