Job Description

We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Birmingham. This role involves assessing and treating patients with various mental health disorders, working collaboratively with other healthcare providers to deliver a comprehensive care plan. The ideal candidate will possess strong therapeutic skills and experience in cognitive behavioural therapy and other evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions tailored to patient requirements.
  • Assess and diagnose psychological conditions according to DSM-5 standards.
  • Collaborate with support staff to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Participate in outreach programmes and community mental health initiatives.
  • Engage in peer supervision and mentoring of junior staff.

Requirements

Education
  • Doctorate in Psychology with clinical placement
Experience
  • Experience working in an NHS or equivalent setting is preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Family Therapy
Certifications
  • British Psychological Society Approved Training
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience in Group Therapy Sessions: Ability to effectively conduct and manage group therapy.
  • Research Experience: Involvement in academic or clinical research projects related to mental health.
