Automotive Design Technician

Job Description

We're on the lookout for a dedicated Automotive Design Technician to support our design team in Redcar. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collaborating on various automotive design projects, ensuring accuracy and creativity in every aspect of design.

Responsibilities

• Utilise advanced modelling and simulation tools to predict performance outcomes.
• Support project managers in planning and executing design timelines.
• Provide operational support during prototype building and testing phases.
• Coordinate with external suppliers and contractors to ensure design integrity.

Requirements

Education

• HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Design

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in automotive design or related field

Technical Skills

• Catia V5
• Prototyping

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Time Management

Certifications

• Engineering Technician (EngTech) Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Basic understanding of project management: Familiarity with managing design projects from concept to completion.
• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis): Knowledge of using FEA tools for stress analysis of components.
