Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Engine Mechanic who will be responsible for maintaining and repairing engines of heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mechanical systems, coupled with expertise in troubleshooting engine issues effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting on diesel engines and heavy machinery.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment including hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Complete work orders and maintain accurate record keeping.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize repair processes and enhance service quality.
  • Educate customers about equipment maintenance and operation.
  • Contribute to the development of service improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in training new mechanics and sharing technical knowledge.
  • Manage spare parts inventory effectively.
  • Participate in regular safety audits and training sessions.

Requirements

Education
  • Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
  • Apprenticeship in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
Experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in heavy vehicle engine repair and maintenance.
Technical Skills
  • Experience with diesel engines
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics

Certifications
  • Forklift Certification
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience with welding and fabrication: Hands-on knowledge in welding techniques for heavy machinery repair.
