Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our vibrant team in Harlow. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating unique and delicious menus, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen operations and ensure smooth service during busy periods.
• Create unique culinary experiences through innovative dish presentations.
• Provide ongoing training to kitchen staff on new techniques and trends.
• Manage scheduling for kitchen staff to ensure full coverage.
• Work closely with front-of-house staff to optimise service delivery.
• Perform regular inspections of kitchen equipment and order repairs if necessary.
• Engage with local farmers and vendors for fresh produce sourcing.
• Participate in community events to promote the restaurant.
• Monitor kitchen cleanliness and ensure all areas are kept sanitary.
• Develop cost-effective solutions for menu pricing and food sourcing.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Culinary Management or a related field
• Advanced Food Safety Certification is a plus

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in a head chef position

Certifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery
