Job Description

As a Forest and Conservation Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting sustainable forestry practices. This hands-on position involves working outdoors in diverse habitats, assisting in tree management, conducting forest surveys, and contributing to the overall health and conservation of woodland areas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing forest management plans.
  • Help in marking trees for harvesting and managing harvesting operations.
  • Operate and maintain forestry equipment and tools.
  • Contribute to environmental assessments and sustainability initiatives.
  • Participate in community outreach and educational programs regarding forest conservation.

Requirements

Education
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification or training in forestry or related field desirable
Experience
  • No previous experience required, but experience in forestry, agriculture or outdoor recreation management is desirable.
Technical Skills
  • GPS and mapping software
  • Chainsaws and forestry equipment

Advantageous

  • Experience with GIS, GPS, or mapping software: Background in using GIS applications for environmental analysis.
  • First Aid certification: Certification in First Aid will be advantageous.
