Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Shearing Supervisor to lead and manage a team of shearers in our wool production facility. The ideal candidate should possess a genuine passion for the sheep farming industry and have a proven track record of delivering quality wool outputs. This role is vital to maintaining our high standards and ensuring the safety and efficiency of the shearing process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the shearing team in achieving production goals while maintaining a high standard of wool quality.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for new shearers and ongoing professional development for the team.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels between all team members.
  • Assess and evaluate shearing techniques, ensuring the best practices are adopted.
  • Drive initiatives for improving safety practices and equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Record and analyse production data to inform management decisions.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop strategic plans for wool production.
  • Enhance team morale and motivation through effective leadership and support.
  • Carry out emergency response procedures as needed and ensure all team members are trained.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss progress and areas for improvement.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma or degree in Agriculture or a related field (advantageous)
  • First Aid Certification (advantageous)
Experience
  • Experience in a wool production facility (advantageous)
