Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant in Special Education to support students with diverse needs. You will assist educators in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and help students overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

  • Support the educational and emotional needs of students with diverse requirements.
  • Implement strategies to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support student needs.
  • Facilitate adaptive learning approaches to cater to various learning abilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate educational activities for effectiveness.
  • Assist in crisis intervention strategies when necessary.
  • Provide assistance during examinations and assessments to ensure student comfort.
  • Help create a structured and engaging learning environment.
  • Promote students' independence and self-help skills.

Advantageous

  • Knowledge of alternative communication methods: Familiarity with sign language or AAC systems.
  • Experience with assistive technology tools: Proficiency in using devices and applications that support learning.
